"next" potential ticket. I'd call your insurance company and ask them to quote you with the 2 (or 4?) point violation. Do the math over 3 years, and go from there. Some companies waive a ticket each 3 years. Here in CA, DMV doesn't even report the ticket if you go to that driver's ed. In either case, I don't think that each ticket is linear with insurance increase, hence why I said keep your record clean if you can.
